Before the huia became extinct, Maori prized its feathers, keeping them in special boxes called wakahuia. The huia feather was worn in the hair or around the neck.
Now you can wear it in your hair, in this bone heru dyed to look just like a huia feather.

The bone hair comb measures approximately 16cm (6 3/8") long, and has three prongs.
It is intricately carved to mimic the look of a feather, and as well as that, it is carved with Koru, the Maori symbol for peace, tranquility, new beginnings, and positive change.
It comes to you in a special black box.
