This Maori Bone Whale Tail Hook Necklace sits at the end of a long string cord with adjustable bone toggle closure.
It is a lovely piece of carving, carved in a Maori fish hook style with a whale tail at the end of the hook.
The back edge of the cow bone hook is serrated, and it is has surface carving as well.
A lot of effort has gone into this carving.
The Maori hei matau measures approximately 3.5cm (1 3/8") long.
The fish hook design carries a spiritual message, one of peace, abundance, and good health, as well as safe travel over water.
Great to give anyone flying somewhere, or to the fisherperson, boatie, swimmer, surfer or paddleboarder. Having said that, the string cord will deteriorate if they wear it in the sea, so it is better that they take it off when going into water. Also great to give someone who needs to get well.
