This beautiful Ratana Maori Korowai is specially made for those of the Ratana faith, but is also available for anyone who would like to wear one.

The correct Maori name for a feather cloak is kahu huruhuru, but most people still call it a korowai. 

This beautiful feather cloak is made by a lovely Maori lady of Ngati Porou descent. She blesses each korowai with a karakia.

The top of this cloak is finished with a knitted Yellow, White and Black taniko band. Feathers used are predominantly Purple, with White at the top. The inside of the korowai is lined with black fabric.  The cloak is sewn on a sewing machine, making it affordable.

The main symbol of the Ratana church is a five-pointed star and crescent moon, the whetu marama. The yellow or gold section of the star represents Te Mangai (the mouthpiece of Jehovah), the purple section represents Nga Anahera Pono (the Faithful Angels), and the white represents Te Tama (the Son).
