It's made from 50% organic Pihepe wool, 25% organic Bohepe wool, and 25% wild possum fur.  

You've probably never heard of Pihepe and Bohepe wool, and there is a full explanation here >>>   But essentially, you've got this lovely smooth wool from an offshore island sheep, plus very fine wool from a specially bred sheep, plus ultra warm and smooth possum fur, and what that gives you is a super soft and super warm blanket.

Those sheep are grown organically.  No tailing, no mulesing, no injections, no antibiotics, no drenching, no dipping.  They roam the hills of Banks Peninsula, and are shorn once a year in summer.

And you get to wear the natural colour of the Pihepe sheep.  No dyes, no changing what nature created.

Wool naturally traps air in its fibres, hence why it is one of the warmest fibres in the world.  The lacy pattern in the blanket means even more air is trapped, making the throw even warmer.  The wool from these sheep is even more special, though, because it is quite smooth and very light.  So you get the lightest of blankets, yet it is still very warm.
